All of us go through many changes in our lifetime. And I am no exception. In fact, I have lived much of my life in transitional mode -- the time between those changes.
I describe it as a kind of limbo; it's the time between where I just was and where I'm going next. I know from experience that going through transition can be a lonely, and even scary, place to be. But I have found that whether I chose change or change chose me; whether I was physically and emotionally equipped to deal with the change or I wasn't, one thing was constant throughout: the undeniable need for this time and space in order to have the strength and focus to adjust to the new circumstances that awaited me.
If we are fortunate, we have that time -- and a supportive environment -- to get through this transitional period relatively easily, and with a normal expenditure of effort.
BUT. NOT. ALWAYS.
Life either throws us a curve ball before we can catch our breath, or we go on for years without even noticing that we are still stuck somewhere in the past. We wake up one day and realize that it's not as easy as it used to be. And we feel ill-equipped, unable, or too burdened to move forward. We begin to doubt ourselves and our decisions. We lose confidence and clarity.
If we stay too long in this place, it is possible to lose our sense of self. And a strong sense of self is absolutely essential in order to live life in the present, to make healthy choices, and for positive growth to occur.
And so I created The Space Between... to help people when they reach this point. It is designed to help clear away the clutter that prevents us from moving forward in our lives. And it is designed to help you feel less alone in the process. It doesn't matter if the clutter is physical or emotional. It doesn't matter if you have been stuck for a week or a year. What matters is that you want to get "un-stuck," and that you're ready to take action and let healing begin.
If you see yourself in anything I've said, The Space Between might be the perfect solution for you.
ADVISEMENT: If you are feeling hopeless or suicidal, this is NOT the site for you. Please seek the help of a trained medical professional or hotline service immediately.
